Donor Resources
At the Civic Garden Center, we rely heavily on individual donations to fund our programs and support our mission. Sixty cents of every dollar we raise from these donations go toward our programs. In other words: We simply could not do what we do without the support of people like you.
Increasingly, Americans across the political spectrum support conserving our nation’s land and water and rebuilding badly altered ecosystems to increase resilience in the face of climate risks. Yet less than 2% of all public international climate finance supports nature-based solutions for adaptation, and only 3% of charitable giving in the U.S. goes toward environment and animals. We’re missing a critical opportunity to harness the power of nature to make communities more resilient to climate impacts.
People support what they believe in. What they value. What brings them joy and connects them to others. What makes them feel as if they’re making a difference. What do you support?
At the CGC, we believe the key lies in interconnectedness. How can we work together to protect Earth’s resources in ways that leave the environment healthy for future generations? How can we fire up people’s commitment to the places they love by helping them act in harmony with nature every day?
You may doubt the difference a small nonprofit can make. But the first step in meaningful change is the very thing the CGC is committed to providing: the awareness of and skills for using nature-based solutions at the individual level. That’s exactly that we’re determined to build—right here, with and within our community.
Together, we can lead the way to protect and care for nature and people in our century. There is strength in numbers, and we will go farther when we go together.
