Produce Swap

  • The Civic Garden Center 2715 Reading Road Cincinnati, OH, 45206 United States (map)

'Tis the season for overflowing gardens. Let's share some of that abundance by getting together for a produce swap!

Here's how it works:

  • Bring 3 to 5 fresh, homegrown produce items that have been cleaned of loose soil and packaged into roughly equal units: a bundle of herbs, a 1-pound bag of green beans, a pint of cherry tomatoes, etc.

  • When you arrive, you'll fill out a swap sheet for each type of item you brought, then display your items on a table behind the swap sheets.

  • Once everyone is set up and ready to go, we'll spend some time wandering around to see what everyone else brought and offering trades on each item's swap sheet.

  • Once everyone has made their offers, we'll return to our own items, decide which of the proposed swaps appeals to us most, seek out the person who brought that item and make the swap. We'll also get to know our fellow gardeners.

You'll leave with the same number of items you came with, though hopefully at least some of them will be new to you!

By registering, you agree to the following:

  • I acknowledge that the food items being shared are not necessarily prepared in commercial kitchens or spaces inspected by any government agency.

  • I will use the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in food preparation when preparing my swap items.

  • I assume all liability; specifically, I agree to not hold liable the Civic Garden Center or other swap participants.

COST: $5
